Belong

“I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now...Come further up, come further in!”
• C.S. Lewis, The Last Battle

Joy! This is the feeling we experience when we belong to a group of faithful friends, and this is what is happening at Emmanuel. We have a very real consciousness about "belonging." People who visit Emmanuel often say, "I feel like I have come home," or, "The people at Emmanuel are so sincere and caring." This is true.

There is a kind of easy generosity and gentle friendships here at Emmanuel. We are learning to love each other and we welcome new friends into our community all the time. In fact, this is the fun part of our mission in life; to invite and include others in a family of believers who live, learn, love and laugh together -- and eat together too. Our Sunday evening meal is simple, but epic in terms of enjoyment. You might like it too. Even if you have food limitations, we are sensitive to such things. Just let us know and we will be happy to serve you according to your food needs.

Belonging gives us all a sense hope, and the satisfaction in knowing that our lives are significant, not merely to ourselves, but to others as well. Emmanuel Anglican Church is a place where people know they are valued, cared for, and loved, we are an odd assortment of real folks who love belonging to Jesus Christ and to one another, and our hearts are open to you.
