From the Readings of this week, Nate Jones addresses the subjects of Ezekiel's vision of the Dry Bones and the raising of Lazarus from the dead in such a way that we can understand why "the Lazarus event" would sealed the resolve of Christ's enemies to put him to death. Nate addresses the issues at stake between a religious power-center and the challenge Jesus' ability to raise the dead poses to their concept of the Jewish National project of his day. Here is a glimpse into our own contemporary religious presuppositions and how we might find ourselves challenged by the only One who can raise the dead.
